The Blending of Science and Faith

The Blending of Science and Faith

What happens around us often goes unnoticed, as with the movement of the moon, planets, and stars in our heavens. Whether we're conscious of it or not, the reality is that we live in an interconnected universe. At the very least, we now know that what occurs in one corner of the world has an impact on the rest of the globe.

Today's millennial dance of Saturn and the three outer planets, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, representing the collective, presses home the increasing importance of education at all levels. The blending of science and faith has expanded our horizons yet has sometimes confused us. The information highway has broken through boundaries and we have often found ourselves with more information at a greater speed than we can handle. What do we do with it? How do we manage it? Representing a shift in direction, nonlinear thinking is required to move forward. Our educational systems must be reoriented to teach nonlinear problem solving at the academic level.

Two of the major players, Uranus and Neptune, rule science and knowledge, and faith and wisdom, respectively. During the past decade these two courted and married. But the resulting relationship has had its ups and downs, as knowledge has both conflicted and colluded with faith.

For the next year or so electric Uranus will continue to swim in the nebulous sign of Pisces, fraying and yet creating new connections to the notions we have about how the world works. Neptune, the modern ruler of Pisces, while in the sign of Aquarius, is dissolving traditional boundaries, especially in technology, communication, and information. Uranus, the awakener of life, joins personal consciousness with that of the greater collective. We all know what happens when electricity, water, and the life force mix-it's a recipe for creation! However, we need to be wise in moving forward, seeking sensible solutions "outside the box." As we move toward the Aquarian age, the challenge will be in not losing sight of the individual.

The world as we knew it changed hugely during the last century. This change accelerated in the late 1990s with the coming of age of the information highway, reflected by the mutual reception of Uranus in Pisces and Neptune in Aquarius. Information now travels instantly, across multiple media, reflecting our thoughts, vision, and sentiments. All that we think, communicate, and express has a vibrational impact on the rest, conscious or not. Our individual and common behavior has immediate repercussions, resulting in even more rapid world changes. With each thought we have the power to influence the course of life. Learning how to live with our rapidly evolving structures, our new landscape, is essential-a matter of adaptation and reeducation-the next evolutionary step!
