Animal Whisperer—Every Being Is a Divine Being

Do you ever wonder what your animals are trying to say to you? Do you wish you knew what they were thinking? Do you wonder what happened to your pet after she or he died?

Many of us, especially pet owners, instinctively feel that animals’ lives are deeper and more meaningful than what conventional science and religion tell us. Different animals, even brothers and sisters in the same family, behave differently and have different personalities. Our animals give us significant looks and react to words we say to them. They know when we’re coming home, when we’re sick, or when we’re sad. They respond to us and we respond to them. Something seems to be going on inside their cute little heads!

As a wildlife biologist, I have spent more than 20 years studying the behavior of diverse animals, from chipmunks to penguins to dolphins. Through it all, I wondered, “What goes on in their minds?” Now as a spiritual intuitive, I am able to communicate directly with animals and get insight into my long-standing question.

By piecing together animals’ answers to their people's questions, I’ve come to understand that animals and humans choose to be together in this life and both parties have something to learn from the other. The lessons taught and learned seem to be similar within species and different between species. For instance, dogs are learning about giving and receiving love while cats are learning about balancing affection and independence. Our connections with our pets can be strong, transcending this life and our physical existence.

Below are some of the questions my clients have had me ask their animals. The responses I got from animals are transcribed directly as they came to me, in the voice of the animal itself. If I didn’t receive words, my intuitive impressions are written in italics.

Q: We have one donkey, several goats, lots of chickens, and one pot-bellied pig. All are rescue animals. Our donkey seems to be the boss of all the animals. Is this how she sees herself?

A: My job is to keep track of everyone. Like a schoolmistress loves and accepts all her students, I love and accept all my animals in my pack. I just like to know where everyone is and to make sure that they are okay.

Q: My in-laws have lots of chickens and we were wondering, what is their favorite food?

A: Green leaves of clovers. We love all greens.

Q: My cat died in a car accident a few years ago. Where is he now?

A: I’m between the worlds. It’s great here! I am having so much fun. I can run and run and run as much as I want. It’s beautiful and peaceful and open and free here. It’s like being in the sky and I can stay here as long as I want to. I’m just playing. Mostly by myself but there are other cats and dogs here. We all play together when we feel like it. But mostly I like to explore and run around on my own. I like running on the sand at the beach and I like running in the clouds. It’s so soft and so wide open.

Q: My dog is mad at my husband. She used to be very friendly with him but lately she avoids him at bedtime. Can you tell me why this is and what we can do to get back to the way things were?

A: He turned the bathroom light off before coming to bed and I didn’t recognize him—he looked like a monster! I was so scared! He needs to apologize to me and give me the milk from his cereal bowl after he eats all the cereal. Then I’ll make up with him.

Q: My horse is getting older and he has to recover for a day or two after my granddaughter rides him. Does he want to retire from giving rides altogether?

A: No! I love giving her rides and I don’t want to stop. As long as I’m here and as long as she wants to ride me, I will give her rides.

Q: My cat is mostly an outdoor cat. When I don’t feed him quickly enough, he swats at me. What’s his deal?

A: He wants to kill everything he sees. He has very strong boundaries and doesn’t like those personal boundaries crossed. You can give him a grounding cord at feeding time to help keep him calm. You can also send him a picture of how you want feeding time to go. For example, intuitively send him a picture of him waiting patiently with his paws to himself while you put down the food bowl in front of him.
