I am a registered nurse with 30 years of experience. My whole life I suffered from allergies and allergy-induced asthma. I had numerous allergies to items in all categories, such as ingestants, contactants, and inhalants. Doctors could not eliminate my allergies and advised me to avoid those foods I was allergic to and prescribed medications to suppress my symptoms. My illness kept me from doing and enjoying many outdoor activities, including yard work, jogging, and even the snow. I frequently felt fatigued and was overwhelmed with symptoms such as wheezing, a “runny” nose, and dry, itchy rashes. Growing up, I had frequent ear and bronchial infections, which led to missed school and activities and landed me in the hospital a couple of times. As an adult, I would have about three severe sinus infections per year. I suffered through numerous painful allergy tests and injections. I tried many medications, hoping I would feel better, possibly even improve, but to no avail. I was told by my allergist that I was doing well because I wasn’t getting worse, but that wasn’t good enough for me. I wanted to feel my best. One day a friend suggested I look into NAET (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Techniques). I admit I was very skeptical.
I spoke to a local practitioner who had also been skeptical that there could be such a simple resolution to years of illness. She shared with me that her NAET results were the elimination of celiac disease, fibromyalgia, and arthritis. I later told NAET founder Dr. Devi Nambudripad that I had thought it was a scam, and she is always amused by this initial reaction as she hears it often. Through NAET I learned that an allergic physical body (including undiagnosed allergies) may manifest its distress through illness rather than the more commonly recognized allergy symptoms.
After researching NAET I went ahead with this simple, painless, noninvasive treatment and, to my great surprise, found permanent relief from my asthma and allergy symptoms. As I continued to feel better, I decided to enroll in a NAET class taught by Dr. Devi and was hooked. I continue to attend advanced courses and symposiums with Dr. Devi.
